Call of Duty: Warzone Season One is finally out after a small delay. With that, the free-to-play battle royale experience has been flipped on it’s head. For starters, there’s the new map/mode with Rebirth Island. Then there’s a new gulag, weapons, and way more. You can find all the other patch notes here. However, here’s everything important you need to know about Warzone Season One.

Warzone Season One

Rebirth Island and new game mode

With the release of Season One for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, Warzone received a huge update. For starters, the Rebirth Island is now live. It’s a significantly smaller map than Verdansk, which motivates the 40 player cap as opposed to the 150 players of the original map.

On the island, it’s all about close quarter combat, similar to the previous Mini BR mode. Rebirth is played through a game mode called Resurgence. Basically, when you die, you respawn after 30 seconds until the final circle. But during that time, your teammate(s) have to survive. If everyone is dead, you’re out!

Gulag

Rebirth also introduces a new Gulag. Defeated players get a chance to fight their way back into the game, though this time, you do that in a familiar place. No more moldy bathrooms, but a mock up of Nuke Town instead!

Cold War guns

Besides the Cold War themed map and Gulag, there are also a bunch of new weapons to be found in Warzone. Among them, the trusted AK-47, an old school M16, the M60 light machine gun and many more.

Players that do not own Black Ops Cold War can still unlock the new guns by leveling their character. Oh and speaking of characters, there’s three new Operators players can unlock.
