Activision announced Friday, that the highly anticipated battle royale mode for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War has been delayed. The announcement comes in the form of a blog post on the Call of Duty website. The post details some of the upcoming content for Season One.
Season One is said to be the largest content drop in Black Ops history. New operators, new weapons, new maps, and new game modes are all going to be part of the massive lineup of content. And it couldn’t come soon enough. But unfortunately fans may have to wait a bit longer for the content.
Warzone Season One delayed
Warzone, as you may know is set to make a big transfer from the Modern Warfare version to the Black Ops version of the battle royale. Originally the release date for the Warzone switch was December 10th. But after today’s announcement we now have a new launch date of December 16th.
So luckily it’s only a six day wait. But we do have some very interesting news to go along with the delay.
New map and weapons coming to Warzone
We can now confirm a new map is coming to Warzone. We don’t have any details other than it will be a completely new map. There is also acknowledgement of a new mode in Warzone, although we have no specifics.
Developers have kept a tight lid on the ‘Classified Warzone experience’ that they detailed in the roadmap released weeks ago. And aside from a few leaks about game modes and a new ‘Rebirth Island’ we haven’t heard much of anything. So, we wait.
We do know that over 30 new weapons will be added to Warzone. We still aren’t certain if the new weapons will be completely replacing the Modern Warfare weapons. Or if the new weapons will be in addition to Modern Warfare weapons. We will detail the content this weekend.
Until then, it’s a good time to grind out some weapon camo’s or check out a game you missed, like AC: Valhalla. You could even check out the new sci-fi RPG Cyberpunk 2077 dropping December 10th.
