Capcom is gearing up for the 25th anniversary of the franchise with Resident Evil Re:Verse, a brand new multiplayer mode. The game mode will be a free add-on to the upcoming main installment in the franchise, Resident Evil Village.
Resident Evil Re:Verse multiplayer
Today Capcom showed us the next multiplayer spin-off to the popular horror franchise, called Resident Evil Re:Verse. As seen in the trailer below, the game mode looks to be action oriented. The trailer shows off some of the most iconic characters of the series, including Chris Redfield, Jill Valentine, Leon Kennedy, and Claire Valentine.
Additionally, it features a new comic book-y, cell shaded kind of look that is new to the franchise. What isn’t new to the franchise, is the clunky third-person shooting. Re:Verse might focus on action, but it doesn’t seem to be playing particularly well. If you’re however interested, you can sign up for the closed beta, starting January 27th.
Village
Of course, Re:Verse is merely a 25th anniversary gift coming along the main title, Resident Evil Village. It’ll mainly follow the same principle as Resident Evil 7. In other words, first person, story-driven action, creepy monsters, and lot’s of (jump) scares. The classic grid-based inventory system is also back, which should satisfy veterans of the horror series.
New to the series is the addition of confusingly sexy vampires. No, not the sparkly Twilight kind. Were talking, freakishly tall, morbidly creepy, surprisingly busty vampire lady style.
