Apex Legends Season 8: Mayhem Adds New Legend ‘Fuse’ Plus Weapon

Starting next month, Apex Legends launches into Season 8 with the Mayhem Event and newcomer Fuse. Respawn Entertainment announced the new legend with an origin story trailer. Additionally, big changes to King’s Canyon are coming up. And we’re also getting a new weapon.

Fuse

On February 2nd, Apex Legends will welcome it’s newest legend by the name of Fuse. Based on his origin story, he’s an Australian demolitionist (though from the planet Salvo) with an attitude. He’s partnered up with an unnamed badass, always fighting with (and over) a golden grenade. Finally, after announcing he’s joining in the Apex Legends tournaments, his partner blows the grenade, causing Fuse to lose an arm. He does shrug it off pretty easily though…

Apex Legends Season 8: Mayhem

Along with Fuse, Apex Legends starts it’s 8th Season off with Mayhem. At this point it’s unclear exactly what the new event entails, though it fits the new legend nicely. As a demolition expert and brawler he’s likely causing all sorts of mayhem.

Which leads us to King’s Canyon, that gets an overhaul with the introduction of Fuse. It’s unclear whether the new character causes the changes to the map like Crypto did. We’ll have to wait for more official information on that.

30-30 Repeater

Lastly, Season 8 introduces the new 30-30 Repeater rifle to Apex Legends. Based on the real-world weapon class’ characteristics, the 30-30 is probably going to be a slow firing, high damage rifle. Depending on what ammo it’s going to use, it might feel similar to the Longbow, or a more deliberate, slower version of the G7 Scout.

Apex Legends Season 8 Mayhem, along with Fuse, the 30-30 Repeater, and changes to King’s Canyon launch February 2nd. A new battle pass is also highly likely to come out then. Coincidentally, that’s the 2nd anniversary of the revolutionary battle royale. So maybe Respawn has even more in store for use, which we’ll certainly cover it in weeks to come.
