After weeks of hints and teasers, Activision finally unveiled Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. The game is slated to release on November 13th. Before that date, the game will see an open beta test. There’s three ways of getting access to said beta.
First, lets go over the guaranteed ways of getting Black Ops Cold War beta access. And finally, we’ll show you how to get one of the 10,000 free beta codes.
Black Ops Cold War open beta
Before the release of Black Ops Cold War come November, Activision and Treyarch are organizing an open beta. Like with Modern Warfare before, it’s probably going to be a test of the multiplayer mode of Black Ops Cold War. When, for which platform(s) and for how long the beta will run, is as of yet unknown. But there’s your first, really obvious way of getting into the beta: just wait!
Paid early access
The second option costs you a bit of money. By pre-ordering any version (Standard or Ultimate edition) of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, you are guaranteed early access to the open beta. Again, we don’t know how much earlier a pre-ordered copy gets you into the beta.
Also with the pre-order you get the following:
- Early access to open beta (pre-orders only)
- Woods Operator Pack in Modern Warfare and Warzone (pre-orders only)
- Confrontation Weapons Pack
Earn one of 10,000 beta tickets
Lastly, you can earn a ticket to the Black Ops Cold War beta by watching the Call of Duty League this weekend. As detailed here, you can earn a bunch of Call of Duty-related stuff by watching the first official eSports tournament for the popular franchise.
For example, when you watch at least 30 minutes of a game on Sunday, you get the CDL Knife Blueprint for Modern Warfare/Warzone. But more importantly, you can earn one of 10,000 beta tickets by watching at least of minute of a game.
You do have to meet certain requirements though. First of all, you have to live in Canada, Denmark, France, Germany, Japan, New Zealand, Norway, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, Spain, Switzerland, Taiwan, United Kingdom or the United States to be eligible. All good up until now? Then follow the steps detailed below:
- Create an Activision account and/or login
- Connect it to the Call of Duty League
- Watch the League through the official website or Call of Duty companion app
