Modern Warfare Season 1 Begins In December. Will Include Battle Pass.

Activision Blizzard has announced that Modern Warfare Season 1 will begin next month. The new Battle Pass will be available for the new season as well starting December 2019.

The announcement came during the Quarterly Earnings call for Activision Blizzard. The start of the new system of content stream for the game is “later than initially planned” according to the call. This leads us to believe that the Battle Pass system for Modern Warfare is most likely in still in the final stages of development.

Last month, we reported that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare would no longer be using the Supply Drop system from previous Call of Duty titles, but rather a Battle Pass system. Players will now have more ways to earn content. More content can be unlocked simply by playing Modern Warfare versus a system that many considered a pay to win scheme.

Call of Duty Points, the in-game currency, will be used to buy the Premium Battle Pass in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.

It was also stated during the earnings call that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is off to an “exceptional” start, and that Infinity Ward has “substantial” plans for post launch content for the new game. The inaugural season of the competitive Call of Duty League is set to start in late January of 2020.
