The original Halo storyline was developed by Bungie, Halo 3 is the final chapter in the original trilogy. Halo 3 brought new a sandbox type feel to the game as well as the genre. After gaining success through the Halo series, Bungie had a goal of creating games for all consoles rather than being restricted. Bungie then left Microsoft to create the Destiny. The rights for Halo were then handed over to 343 industries who has continued the Halo storyline.
343 Industries is also developing a next-gen Halo Infinite game that it will show off further later this month. Microsoft is holding an Xbox Game Studios event where Halo Infinite and a number of other first-party next-gen games will be revealed on July 24th.
