Kojima: Death Stranding Will Have ‘Very Easy’ Difficulty Mode for ‘Movie Fans’

Depending on what type of experience you want to get out of Hideo Kojima’s psychedelic walking game Death Stranding, the game will have different difficulty options including ‘Very Easy’, ‘Easy’, ‘Normal’ and ‘Hard’. Kojima goes on to state that they specifically added the Very Easy mode to the game for movie fans that just want a cinematic experience.

@Kaizerkunkun, the personal assistant to Kojima, first Tweeted that Death Stranding will have a Very Easy mode “for people who usually don’t play games, like movie fans or RPG fans”. She goes on to explain that gamers with a desire for action will still be able to play the game in a more traditional way with the Normal or Hard mode.

Kojima added that the project is centered around ‘real actors’ like Norman Reedus (The Walking Dead), Mad Mikkelsen (Hannibal), Lea Seydoux (Blue Is the Warmest Color) and Margaret Qualley (Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood). Movie fans will be able to interact with those digitized celebrities in the game as if it were an interactive movie.

So even if you never even held a controller in your life, you will still be able to enjoy the Death Stranding-experience, as according to Kojima “even Yano-san who never completed the 1st stage of PAC-MAN, was able to complete the game on Very Easy Mode.” Simply put, even without any prior gaming experience, you can just strap in and enjoy the acid fueled ride that is Death Stranding.

Death Stranding will be released on November 8, 2019, for PlayStation 4.
