Far Cry 6 Is Coming — Official Release Date, New Guns, And Blockbuster Story

Far Cry 6 finally has a release date, along with some juicy details on it’s over the top, badass gameplay. In a recent trailer, Ubisoft spilled the beans on everything we need to know about the upcoming open world shooter.

Far Cry 6 release date

First and foremost, Far Cry 6 has a concrete release date and it’s October 7th 2021. The game launches on practically every platform available, including Google Stadia, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X / S.

Supremo backpack

Along with a metric ton of highly customizable, almost Fallout-esque guns, Far Cry 6 also features a series of Supremo backpacks. Sure, that doesn’t sound intimidating, until you realize you can shoot freaking rockets out of it. Alternatively, you can turn it into a flamethrower or jetpack.

Guerilla

As always, you’ll be part of a revolutionary gang of warriors repressed by an evil dude. This time, said dude is none other than Giancarlo Esposito, known for playing the menacing villains in both Breaking Bad (Gus Fring) and The Mandalorian (Moff Gideon).

In Far Cry 6, he’s a totalitarian ruler of the island of Yara, preparing his young son (possibly a young Vaas?) to take over the reins. It’s up to you to liberate the island from his iron fist, using guns, explosives, classic cars, and a pet alligator.

Based on the gameplay footage, we can expect explosive firefights over important outposts on the map. Far Cry usually uses that gameplay loop. Interwoven, players get a blockbuster quality story, full of interesting and outlandish characters.

The game was originally planned for a February launch. After the delay, Far Cry 6 finally has a definitive release date of October 7th.
