CD Projekt Red has announced The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Complete Edition for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. Furthermore, even the PC version of the masterpiece (check our review here) gets an upgrade. If that weren’t enough, both upgrades are 100% free! So yeah, the Polish developer has once again proven how much they care about their audience; they’ve given Cyberpunk 2077 a similar treatment. Geralt approves!
The Witcher 3 enhanced edition for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and PC
In a tweet, CD Projekt Red shared the fantastic news. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is one of the highest rated games of all time. It’s certainly Game Enthusiast’s favorite RPG. And while it still holds up after well over five years (again, check our review), we can’t imagine how awesome a next-gen version would be.
The game will get enhanced visuals as well as technical improvements. If you thought the original game looked great, wait till you see it with Raytracing! And with the huge generational performance gap, we can’t wait to see all the other improvements CD Project Red manages to implement in the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X version of the game.
The Witcher 3 is coming to the next generation!
A visually and technically enhanced version of the game will be available for purchase for PC and next-gen consoles & as a free update for owners of the game on PC, @Xbox One and @PlayStation 4.

In an accompanying blogpost, the developer writes:
Developed to take advantage of the most powerful gaming hardware, the next-gen edition of the game will feature a range of visual and technical improvements — including ray tracing and faster loading times — across the base game, both expansions, and all extra content.
Free upgrade
The next-gen version would be the perfect opportunity for CD Projekt Red to make a quick buck, yet they decided not to exploit it. Owners of The Witcher 3 get the next-gen version of the game for free! So whether you own the game on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, or PC, you can get the enhanced edition without additional charge. And yes, it includes all 16 content DLC’s and the Hearts of Stone and Blood & Wine expansions.
If you haven’t previously purchased The Witcher 3 before, the next-gen versions will be available as a standalone purchase as well. The price of the enhanced edition of the game hasn’t been announced yet. When The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Complete Edition will launch for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and PC is also still unknown.
