In an earnings call with Ubisoft board members, Ubisoft confirmed that the video game publisher has 5 AAA titles in development. While three of the games are games that were delayed from 2019, the other two games are yet to be confirmed. But let’s break down what games they could be.
What we know for sure
Of the five games, we know that three of the games are recently delayed games from 2019. Watch Dogs: Legion, Rainbow 6: Quarantine, and Gods and Monsters were all delayed in October of 2019.
From the call, we did hear plenty of chatter about the new Rainbow 6, so we can confidently assume that the game is going to be getting an official launch date soon.
Gods & Monsters, an action-adventure game set in the ancient world of mythological Greece, is set to release later this month on February 25th for PS4/PS5, PC, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and Stadia.
Watch Dogs: Legion WAS set to release March 6th, 2020 for PS4/PS5, PC, Xbox One, and Stadia. But the game has also been delayed, presumably until later this year or early 2021.
What about the other two?
The other two games are yet to be confirmed but during the call, one board member mentions that the other two games would come from “two of the biggest franchises” under the Ubisoft umbrella.
As far as we can tell, that could be a few different IP’s that we are looking at. The obvious titles would be from the Assassin’s Creed and Far Cry franchises.
Ubisoft Berlin was rumored to be working on a new Far Cry experience according to YouTuber FallenNinja, but as usual, these kind of claims are purely speculative.
Assassin’s Creed is also rumored to be developing a Viking centered title; but just as with Far Cry, nothing has been confirmed.
Announcements at E3?
Ubisoft is notorious for dropping huge title announcements at the E3 Expo, the massive annual video game industry expo.
As always we will be covering E3 live on our Facebook page; and most likely we will be seeing these two mystery games as well as many, many more.
