During the most recent earnings call, Google revealed their insane revenue from all their projects. In the last quarter of 2019 the American company made a whopping $46 billion. But according to the numbers, Google didn’t make a dime off of Google Stadia. In fact, it doesn’t mention the gaming service even once!
Did Google forget about their potentially revolutionary service already?
A month ago we wrote that Google Stadia has a couple of big hurdles to overcome in order to reach it’s full potential. One of those things is really earn the trust of the gamer and potential customer. And by not even mentioning Google Stadia (or ‘gaming’ for that matter) in the latest earnings call is questionable at the very least.
The transcript of the call does not mention ‘Stadia’, ‘gaming’, or ‘games’ at all. The corresponding press release is also devoid of anything gaming related. But what’s really weird is that no investor calling in on the meeting asked Google CEO Sundar Pichai about it either.
So did they forget about it too? Of course, we have no idea what goes on behind the scenes at Google. Maybe they are going to announce something big soon? Or maybe they took all the Stadia-references out of the transcript; we don’t know.
Whatever is going on with Google, the radio silence surrounding Google Stadia definitely isn’t helping it. We’re just saying Google, skeptics might be looking for Stadia in the GoogleGraveyard already. There’s no comment from Google as to why Stadia is missing from the earnings call as of yet. When we learn something more, we’ll update the article accordingly.
