Today’s Review: Rocket League
Developer: Psyonix
Released: July 7, 2015
Our Score: 7.4
Nestled in the vast array of arcade games is the unique and addicting Rocket League. For the modest price of $19.99, Rocket League has exceptional sustainability and is also surprisingly enjoyable. This game is absolutely unique and one of a kind.
While we always try to go for the win as gamers, there is also a light side to losing as well. Game’s usually last no longer than 5 minutes and with the addition of the new Rumble gametype, this game is bound to become a favorite for any type of gamer.
The biggest downfall to Rocket League is by far the matchmaking and leveling. There seems to be a need for a more finite distinction of player skill. A leveling system to match you with players of your skill level. This would mean complete reformation of the leveling system, or in Rocket League’s case, the TWO leveling systems. One level for your XP earned throughout your career and another level which is more dynamic based on winning or losing streaks.
With that being said Rocket League is a great addition to your library for the price. It is definitely an addicting and fun game to play with a group of friends, an arcade game well worth the price.
