You will soon be able to play Subnautica on the Nintendo Switch! The underwater survival game will be available on Nintendo’s most recent console in 2021 according to a recent announcement.
What is Subnautica?
You’re a lone survivor of a waylaid spacecraft called the Aurora. Your craft crash lands on a remote ocean planet named “4546B.” Here you are free to explore the depths, looking for resources to help you survive, all-the-while facing off against other-worldly creatures.
This is the plot of the survival action-adventure video game Subnautica, developed and published by Unknown Worlds Entertainment. First released in 2014 via early access for Microsoft Windows, it has since seen versions of the game released for Mac, Xbox One and Playstation 4.
Subnautica coming to Nintendo Switch
It has since left Nintendo Switch users to ponder whether it would be released for their console. It seems the time has finally come for them to ponder no more. Announced at Indie World Showcase, Switch users will be able to dive into the depths of both Subnautica and Subnautica: Below Zero (the sequel) sometime early next year. Shiny Shoe and Unity Professional Services will work alongside developer Unknown Worlds to bring both games to the Nintendo console.
