Halo Infinite got a new teaser trailer today after a cryptic video revealed some sort of transmission from a character who claims to be from “The Banished”.
Players may remember “The Banished” from Halo Wars 2; a real-time strategy release that followed events after the story of Halo 5. The game lets players command the battles between “The Banished” and the crew of UNSC Spirit of Fire. It’s not clear exactly how this transmission is going to fit into the story of Halo Infinite, but it’s definitely a twist in the story so far.
What is going on with The Banished?
Halo Infinite is expected to be a main game showcased at the upcoming Xbox 2020 event this July. But developers have given us an early taste. Albeit a mysterious taste. The character in the transmission, assumed to be Atriox—the leader of “The Banished”, says that “within hours, the ring will be under our control”.
So it seems that we may be fighting against “The Banished” in Halo Infinite. But who knows, maybe we will be fighting alongside them. There’s still a lot of unknowns. But take a look for yourself.
Keeping our attention
Last year there was concern that the future of Halo Infinite may be in jeopardy when a top level developer left the design studio. But it seems like things are moving full steam ahead for Halo Infinite, and we couldn’t be happier. Halo Infinite has some big shoes to fill in the franchise and so far the story has us hooked.
We will have to wait for more details to see exactly what is going on here. But one thing is for sure, the developers at 343 Industries are keeping us intrigued about the plot for Halo Infinite.
We’re sure to know more at the Xbox 2020 event coming in July. We haven’t had a date announcement yet, but as soon as we do we will announce it here on Game Enthusiast. Stay tuned for more news about Halo Infinite and the rest of your favorite franchises.
