PUBG will be introducing an 8v8 Team Deathmatch mode in its next update coming soon. The mode can be played now using the PUBG Test Server.
The new mode is first person only with respawns. There will be seven small maps from already existing PUBG areas. Matches will last ten minutes each with a score limit of 50 kills. Teams will have to secure 2 wins to declare a victory for the match.
Players of PUBG 8v8 Team Deathmatch will be able to choose from 8 different loadouts, known as Spawn Kits. And an interesting concept that will be included will be health regeneration that changes based on your performance in-game. That’s right, the better you’re playing, the better your health regeneration will be.
Kills and assists fill what is called your Boost Gauge. After not taking damage for a short time your health begins regenerating. This is an interesting concept for the Team Deathmatch mode. After all, health regeneration is not a new concept to TDM but the changing rate of health regeneration is an interesting tweak.
Players can earn BP in PUBG 8v8 Team Deathmatch but there will not be any Survival Pass XP rewards. And for the fans that may be concerned about PUBG straying away from their main game mode, battle royale, have no fear.
PUBG developers addressed that concern in a recent announcement about the mode stating:
“Our core focus will always be to bring you the most realistic and intense Battle Royale experience out there.
The announcement goes on to say that the new sub-section of PUBG, known as Arcade, will continue to get regular updates with new maps, tweaks, and “familiar game modes”.
