Sunday’s Fortnite Event title “The End” has taken the game in yet another exciting twist. The event started with a rocket launching into the sky and progressed into the entire world (player included) being sucked into what appears to be a black hole.  Fortnite surely isn’t going away for good but the event has driven many people crazy thinking of what this could mean for the free to play battle royale.

From first glance it appears that the developers want to have the appearance of having “killed Fortnite”.  All social media channels officially attached to Fortnite have gone quiet, and even the name of the event being “The End” has given the appearance of the game coming to an end. But while it is tempting for some to relish in the disappearance of Fortnite, most understand that this is just a precursor to a new adventure with the game.

Talks of something spectacular happening during this event have been circulating for some time now but nobody really expected something this extravagant.  An event like this black hole is something beyond what anyone could have expected but seems to have mixed responses throughout the community.  Popular Twitch streamer timthetatman posted a video on Twitter summarizing the event:

A new map is presumably the next step for Fortnite.  But as usual, Epic Games has once again taken a well executed theatrical approach to making changes to the game.  Unfortunately, we don’t have much to go on as to when the servers will be back up or what exactly is next for Fortnite but we will be sure to update everyone once we have more information.

How come nobody has mentioned the wierd string of numbers that had been appearing around the black hole? Soon after the screen showed nothing but a black hole an unusual string of numbers started popping up. I know because I was in the live event. After getting sucked into the black hole I stayed with it on my tv screen until around 8:30ish pm (Pacific Time) writing every number that popped up before shutting it down. I was thinking that if I were able to stick it out until it was over, with all the numbers that came up, maybe they would lead to some kind of reward from Epic Games. Little did I know that “The End” event would last longer than the 9½ hrs or so that I was willing to watch. Has anyone else noticed the numbers I am referring to? And are there theories about them?

Oh yeah, there has been talk about it being coordinates, but it seems to be something of a troll (referring to a crab dance party or something). Whatever it is, I think it’s a great move by Epic Games to literally end the world before (allegedly) going into Chapter 2 and introducing a new map. I don’t even play the game and I’m interested to see what happens!
