Sunday’s Fortnite Event title “The End” has taken the game in yet another exciting twist. The event started with a rocket launching into the sky and progressed into the entire world (player included) being sucked into what appears to be a black hole. Fortnite surely isn’t going away for good but the event has driven many people crazy thinking of what this could mean for the free to play battle royale.
From first glance it appears that the developers want to have the appearance of having “killed Fortnite”. All social media channels officially attached to Fortnite have gone quiet, and even the name of the event being “The End” has given the appearance of the game coming to an end. But while it is tempting for some to relish in the disappearance of Fortnite, most understand that this is just a precursor to a new adventure with the game.
Talks of something spectacular happening during this event have been circulating for some time now but nobody really expected something this extravagant. An event like this black hole is something beyond what anyone could have expected but seems to have mixed responses throughout the community. Popular Twitch streamer timthetatman posted a video on Twitter summarizing the event:

A new map is presumably the next step for Fortnite. But as usual, Epic Games has once again taken a well executed theatrical approach to making changes to the game. Unfortunately, we don’t have much to go on as to when the servers will be back up or what exactly is next for Fortnite but we will be sure to update everyone once we have more information.
