Yesterday Sony revealed their new logo for the upcoming PlayStation 5 during this year’s Consumer Electronics Show (CES). Chances are it’s exactly the logo you expected, which means that the company is inevitably getting ridiculed for it. And it’s not hard to see why.
Basically, if you take the minimalist PS4 logo and you turn the ‘4’ into a ‘5’, you’re as skilled as Sony’s lead logo designer. While a multi-billion dollar company might have the resources to reinvent the wheel, there’s obviously something to be said about consistency as well.
But of course, the internet wouldn’t be the internet without a few jabs regardless of the logo. With that being said, here are some of our favorite reactions to Sony’s “new” logo for the PS5:

The PlayStation 5 is coming out during the holiday season of this year. Apart from some patents for the DualShock 5 controller, we have no clue as to what the PlayStation 5 will look like. Meanwhile, Microsoft has already fully revealed their new console, the Xbox Series X.
