Red Dead Online will feature a new Frontier Pursuits role soon: the Moonshiner. The multiplayer game mode for Rockstar’s acclaimed western Red Dead Redemption 2 previously featured the Bounty Hunter, the Trader, and the Collector. A Red Dead Online Moonshiner, like the name suggests, will make his money brewing booze.
Rockstar announced the new role yesterday and with the upcoming update, slated for December 13th, players will have yet another ‘job’ to pursue in Red Dead Online. As a Moonshiner, you’ll start up your very own bootlegging business in the basement of a Moonshining Shack. From there, the illegal activities commence.
Like with the previous roles, this one does require you to invest a little bit of time and money:
Any active Trader who has completed a sell mission or reached Rank 5 in the Trader progression will receive an introduction via Cripps to meet the infamous Maggie Fike – an experienced bootlegger with the scars to prove it – down at Emerald Ranch.
When ‘officially’ a Moonshiner, you’ll get all sorts of new booze-fueled story mission and objectives to play through. Of course, your main goal – apart from raking in cash – is to make the best booze in the West. To achieve that, you will have to get your hands a bit dirty by, for example, eliminating rival booze brewers. So don’t retire those six-shooters just yet.

“You’ll learn new recipes and techniques that help make your moonshine the best by a country mile. You’ll also have the opportunity to set up your own underground Bar serving your own shine, with customizable décor and the option to add a country band complete with dance floor to entertain your friends and clientele.”
The Moonshiner role comes with it’s own perks and unique items, but what those are is as of yet unknown. The Moonshiner Frontier Pursuits Role will be added to Red Dead Online on December 13th along with the Outlaw Pass No. 2, the new Navy Revolver, and additional clothing options.
